Amazing Race on CBS

I haven’t been a big fan of the Amazing Race. But last night I had nothing to watch and decided to give the quiz show a try. I will say I enjoyed it. Some of the temas are crazy and way to competitive. Those are the ones I hope get kicked out. I was hoping the Hippy Couple were going to kick butt, but they didn’t, they got to go home.

I need to find someone to go on this show with. Could you imagine going all over the world, Hell if I just went to the first stop, that would be more international travel then I’ve ever done. It’s crazy but two Emmy wins? That’s crazy. But I’ll keep watching

TS Episode 61- Presidential Candidates are stupid

Robert is MIA and the fabu Mary the Sober Girl sit in. And I”m sure he’s sad he missed out because I talked politics. Well how stupid they are and the debate. The wonderful gas woes in Atlanta, Then the new fall season.

Ok, so I DVR’ed the debate. And can I just say this has to be one of the worst Presidential Debates of all time. Neither candidate struck me as Presidential. But forgive me if I”m wrong, aren’t the presidential debates supposed to get middle of the road voters, not for partisan bickering?

The two didn’t debate ideas, they blamed the other about whats going on in the country. Neither offered ideas about how they would lead the country. Which to me was disappointing. Neither candidate is a Bill Clinton or Ronald Regan. Both of whom, regardless on if you agrree with their politics, were very good speakers. I probably won’t watch the other two debates, just the Vice President debate. Oh oh oh, before I forget, NBC had Joe Bidden, and they offered to the republican party to have Palin on but they declined. This should tell us something, they aren’t letting her near anything that isn’t controllable. Mark my words they will come up with something so that she won’t debate this Thursday.

Speaking of the nut job. SNL Last night did another skit with Tina Fey, who was cracking me up. This is almost as good as the last one they did. This is a take off on the Katie Couric interview. And you say you haven’t seen it, well I have both of them here for you to review. I’m not normally political, but this woman is a total nut job and unqualified for the job, and not because she’s a woman, its because she’s a nut case, up there with Pat Buchanon and Mike Huckabee.

Xanadu the Musical

Well, the one Musical I wanted to see will close today after the 3 PM show. I REALLY wanted to see Xanadu. But as I heard on QCast, and then investigated on Playbill, that indeed the show was closing. Two weeks earlier then reported, they said it was due to economic issues and they hoped they wouldn’t loose any more money.

I bought the sound track from PS Classics. Which I instantly fell in love with. I figured it would be around till I got back up there. But as you can tell I am wrong. So if you’re one of the lucky ones who have seen it, I’m jealous. I’ll have to get my iPod out and pretend I was there.

The only bright side is that it’s going to tour and I will see it when it’s here! But it still won’t be the same, as the original cast.

Brothers & Sisters Cast

I just got done watching Season 2 of Brothers & Sisters. Its funny because I did it in 4 days. Yeah I guess it pays to get laid off. I got the season set on this past Tuesday and sat down and watched all 16 episodes. I have really fallen for this show. To me it’s one of the better acted and written shows around.

I guess one of the reasons I like this show is that it seems like a real family. It’s not a Cosby show version of a family. There are ups and downs and people not getting along. Just as with any family. But the part I think that gets me the most is when there is a secret, that everyone talks about it to every one else. Kinda reminds me of my family some.

The new season kicks off this Sunday at 10 PM and I”m looking forward to seeing it. This will be the first season I will see from the beginning. I bought the first season on DVD midway through the first season and finally didn’t watch it till almost the end of the year. And I knew I would need this season.

Ok, I’ll wrap it up I’m tired and on gout drugs and probably am making no sense but check out the show!

Ok, I’m feeling a little like Oprah. I just watched her show where she read a book and talked to the author, and I just did that with the book I read. The Screwed Up Life of Charlie the Second. I finished it this afternoon. As soon as I did I emailed the author, Drew Ferguson. And told him what an incredible book he wrote.

Now I haven’t read a lot since I graduated college. If you listen to a few other shows you know we’re doing a podcast book club and its starting with this book. This is one of those books that really reached in and touched something in my soul. I so reminded me of a lot myself and brought back a lot of memories, good and bad. It mad me realize how you change over the years, and hopfully for the better.

I don’t want to go into too much detail about the book, I know a few people haven’t read it. But it’s about Charlie and him in his Senior year of High school and what happens. One minute you’re up and the next you’re down. It really is one of the most well written books I’ve read in a long time.

I strongly suggest you got to Drew’s site and get a copy. Or head to your local gay book store, like Out Write in Atlanta, or Amazon and get it now!

                                                                  Check it out!
